Professional Regulations
Lawyers: The lawyers admitted in Germany are subject to the relevant professional regulations, i.e.: the federal lawyers’ act (BRAO), the professional code of conduct for lawyers (BORA), the federal lawyers’ remuneration act (RVG), the specialist lawyers’ regulation (FAO), and the professional rules for lawyers of the European Community (CCBE professional rules), the law regulating the activity of European lawyers (EuRAG), the regulation on legal directories and the special electronic lawyers’ mailboxes (RAVPV), the regulation on information obligations for service providers (DL-InfoV). Tax advisors: The tax advisors admitted in Germany are subject to the relevant professional regulations, i.e.: the tax consultancy act (StBerG), the implementing regulation to the tax consultancy act (DVStB), the professional code of conduct of the Federal chamber of tax consultants (BOStB), the tax consultants’ remuneration regulation (StBVV) and the regulation on specialist advisors (FBO). Professional Liability Insurance
The professional liability insurance for lawyers and tax advisors has been taken out with Allianz Versicherungs-AG, 10900 Berlin. The geographical scope of the insurance cover comprises activities in the member states of the European Union and at least meets the requirements of § 51 of the federal lawyers’ act (BRAO), § 67 of the tax consultancy act (StBerG), §§ 51 et seq. of the implementing regulation to the provisions for tax advisors, tax agents and tax advisory companies (DVStB), § 54 of the auditors’ regulation (WPO) in conjunction with the regulation on the professional liability insurance of public accountants and sworn auditors (WPBHV).
Online Dispute Resolution Platform and Dispute Resolution for Consumers
The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution available under http://ec.europa.eu/consumers. Schmid, v. Buttlar & Partner Rechtsanwälte • Steuerberater mbB does not participate in dispute settlement procedures before an arbitration board for consumers.
